Village Information Network

The ‘Opt In’ system has been operational for over two years and provides a platform to circulate information that is either important, i.e. relevant Police Alerts / Warnings and general information on forthcoming events such as Film Nights, Social Events, First Aid Training.

Covid-19 has created a surge in demand for the service as local, regional and national networks issue advice and requests.

Key stakeholders, such as he Village Hall, Parish Council have direct access to the system while everybody else has access by a simple request system. For Instance, you are organising a Bar-B-Q in the village in support of ‘Children in Need’ and wish to promote it to as many people as possible – you just send me the copy and it is circulated to all on the list.

It is not a system that bombards subscribers with unnecessary messages, but it has proved to be the most effective and efficient method of keeping people informed of what is going on – sometimes at very short notice.
